FAMILY BUILDING ON A TRADITION OF DEMOLITION
The Teperman name has been synonymous with building demolition and tear-downs in Toronto for nearly a century. You know big change is underway just at the sight of the firm’s orange-and-black banners, familiar signs throughout the GTA.
But now there’s an about-face within the family ranks as fifth-generation Jordan Teperman — great, great grandson of company founder Samuel — pushes forward with a vision to be a city builder and developer.
TWO TORONTO MID-RISES TREATING GUIDELINES AS JUST THAT – GUIDELINES
Toronto’s official guidelines for new mid-rise developments are humane, well-intentioned and quite specific. Their specificity is one reason they are also controversial, at least in architecturally interested circles.
Designers and developers complain that the gate-keepers at city hall frequently interpret the guidelines in a fundamentalist fashion, thwarting artistic innovation and encouraging a certain dull sameness in mid-rise schemes.
HAVEN DEVELOPMENTS AND TEEPLE WOW US WITH SIX25BV IN NORTH YORK
The very first rendering of SIX25BV has been released and we have to say, we’re pretty into this one. Haven Developments worked with Teeple Architects to design this new boutique condo planned for North York.
SIX25BV will rise eight storeys at – you guessed it – 625 Sheppard Avenue East in the Bayview Village neighbourhood, which is becoming a hot spot for distinct and interesting looking residential developments. The condo promises to be “different by design,” and now that we have our first look, we believe it will be!
